The language of each nation is original and has original expressions that reflect the mentality and traditions of the nation. Language forms the consciousness of a person, knowledge of the language helps to broaden one's horizons, to penetrate deeper into the culture of another country. Date in 2019: .

It is natural for most people to communicate, to convey emotions in their native language. Only a man got such a unique gift - to have the gift of words. And within the framework of one article it is difficult to reveal that depth, that magic that is hidden behind this gift. To emphasize the originality, the uniqueness of each language, each dialect, people tried to international level, creating a holiday of the same name - International Mother Language Day.

From birth, a person hears unfamiliar sounds that pour from the lips of a loved one. It is these initially incomprehensible sounds that later become for the child that same native language.

And there is no way to make you forget those very first, very native words. After all, up to 80% of words a person remembers precisely at the age of 7 years. Therefore, the language of childhood becomes the closest for life. And even if only a few hundred people speak it, it will still warm the soul and heart, because it is on it that you are used to thinking, it is on it that the heroes of your dreams speak.

Language is the spiritual heritage of the nation

Real political battles and even warriors often developed around the topic of language. The way to communicate was dictated not only by the social order, but also by many other conventions.

From time immemorial, each people and nationality tried to preserve its originality, the main expression of which was the language. But circumstances and realities often developed in such a way that local dialects were oppressed or completely banned by the colonizers or conquerors. Thus, in many English and French colonies, over the years, the native language was simply supplanted by new laws.

In addition, small nations are simply dying out. Their language is also gone. According to statistics, about 24 dialects disappear on the planet every year. Only in Russia 2 adverbs are forgotten every year.

Immediately after the revolution, there were up to 193 languages on the territory of the current Russian Federation, and by the end of 1991 there were only 140 of them.

It cannot be said that earlier human evolution did not encounter the birth of new dialects and the extinction of old languages. But in the 20th century, this process accelerated at times.

Development information technologies gave impetus to the spread international languages with the actual suppression of underutilized. In fact, it turns out that a language that is not on the network does not actually exist. But out of 6,000 dialects, today only 1/25 of the inhabitants of the Earth use 69% of them. And 80% of African dialects have no written language at all.

Therefore, it is believed that almost half of the languages known today are on the verge of extinction. It is this problem that is voiced on International Mother Language Day.

history of the holiday

Issues related to the preservation of a certain dialect, in recent times is getting sharper. After all, the dominant positions of the same of English language on the Internet reach unimaginable positions. This is 81%, while the same German and Japanese account for 2%, French and Spanish occupy 1% each. Somewhere among the remaining 8% is Russian.

What can we say about rare dialects. Therefore, the initiator of celebrating Mother Language Day was the small country of Bangladesh, which only in 1971 achieved independence and recognition.

This idea was supported by UNESCO and since 2000 the International Mother Language Day has been celebrated all over the world.

The date of the holiday was associated with a tragic event that occurred in 1952 in Pakistan. Students demonstrated on February 21 to defend their language. However, the demonstrators were shot by the police. But despite such a sad outcome of the event, the Bengali language, with which the riots were associated, was declared official in the country.

It is on February 21, 2017, that Russia and the whole world will celebrate a holiday associated with the protection of the native language as a unique heritage of mankind.

Mother tongue day in Russia

The Russian language for its speakers has always been a national pride. After all, it was this language that the famous classics and emperors, scientists and travelers who glorified Russia spoke.

It is the Russian language that has the status of the state language in Russia. However, today Russian Federation- a multinational state. And each nation has its own language, dialect and traditions associated with it.

On Mother Language Day, the goal of Russians is not only to emphasize their national pride official language, but also to talk about the importance of the language of small peoples, the uniqueness of the dialects of national minorities. And everything must be done so that these dialects do not disappear, but remain, preserved, as national pride, the identity of the entire population of Russia.

But it so happened that Russian speakers live not only in Russia. Many Russian speakers live abroad. And in modern geopolitical conditions, the attitude of some states towards their Russian-speaking citizens is simply bewildering.

It is difficult to judge who is to blame for the current realities, but it is on the International Mother Language Day, February 21, that I would like to wish people who find themselves in such a situation to be patient and not to forget, no matter what, their true native dialect.

Congratulations in prose and poetry

The word always inspired the soul, the word called for victory and on the way, the word can inspire and calm, give hope and make happy. Only native words, native speech caress the ear and warm the heart. And even in a foreign land, a person tries to hear his native speech. So do not forget about your native language. And if you expect respect for your native dialect on a holiday, and not only respect any language.

What can be dearer and closer

Native country, its people.

What could be more expensive

Native word and friends.

And fill your soul with the word:

Communicate, think and read.

Don't give your enemies a chance, remember

And don't forget your language.

Extra-curricular event "Native Language Day"

Idea: “Language is the most powerful tool for preserving and developing our cultural heritage in its tangible and intangible forms. Any activity to promote the spread of the mother tongue will help not only linguistic diversity and multilingualism, but also a better understanding of linguistic and cultural traditions throughout the world, as well as solidarity through understanding, tolerance and dialogue” (UNESCO)

Target: to arouse the interest of students in the study and preservation of their native language, to cultivate respect for the culture and traditions of their people.

Teacher

All human life is inextricably linked with language. As children, we listen with rapture folk tales, songs, epics. Later there is an acquaintance with classical literature, with the work of such wonderful masters of the word as A.S. Pushkin, N.V. Gogol, I.S. Turgenev, L.N. Tolstoy, A.P. Chekhov.

Thirteen years ago, at the 30th General Conference of UNESCO, International Mother Language Day was proclaimed. This happened in November 1999, and it began to be celebrated in February 2000. The measure adopted by the world community is designed to promote the recognition of the diversity of languages and cultures, the freedom of their manifestation.

The holiday is celebrated annually on February 21st. Today it is important to study and love the native language. After all, language is a whole world full of charm, charm and magic. He is the living memory of the people, his soul, his heritage.

And how beautifully the Russian writer, historian Nikolai Mikhailovich Karamzin said about his native language: “Let there be honor and glory to our language, which flows like a proud majestic river - makes noise, thunders - suddenly, if necessary, softens, murmurs in a gentle stream and sweetly flows into soul."

Agree, friends, it's nice to listen to the correct, beautiful and smooth speech. Involuntarily, the lines of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin about the Swan Princess are recalled: “Speech speaks sweetly, as if the river is murmuring.” After all, in fact, human speech resembles the murmur of a river. Not without reason, "speech" and "river" are words that arose from the same root.

Today we, like the entire world community, are celebrating Mother Language Day.

1st page "Dictionaries"

1st presenter: Dictionaries help us write a word correctly, explain its meaning, find out from which language it came to us, replace it with a similar one.

2nd host: How many words are there in Russian?

1st presenter: If you count all the words that, gradually accumulating, made up the lexicon of the Russian language, there will be about a million of them. This is a great wealth, but we have not fully preserved it, because we began to write down words late, to compile dictionaries, initially we tried to write down strange words.

2nd leader:In the first printed dictionary, which appeared in 1596, there were only 1061 words - a lot for those times. AT late XVIII century, the “Dictionary of the Russian Academy” was compiled - it contains 42,257 words.

1st presenter: Only in 1863, after 267 years, Vladimir Dahl's Explanatory Dictionary of the Living Great Russian Language was published in 4 volumes, which consisted of 200,000 words.

2nd host: 53 years Dahl collected, compiled and improved his dictionary. This is an extraordinary dictionary! It can be read like a book!

1st presenter: More and more dictionaries are being created. The “Dictionary of the Living Great Russian Language” is picked up not only to find the right word. It is opened as the greatest treasury of the language, as the richest collection of proverbs - the repository of folk wisdom. It is read like a story, it is studied as an encyclopedia of the life of the Russian people!

2nd host- We turn to him when we read fairy tales, myths, epics, books by Pushkin, Shmelev, Remizov, Nekrasov, Turgenev.

Presentation about V.I. Dale

I will tell you about Vladimir Ivanovich Dal, the creator of the famous “ explanatory dictionary living Great Russian dictionary.

V.I. Dal 1801 in the town of Lugan (hence his pseudonym: Cossack Lugansk).

His father was a Dane, and his mother was the daughter of a Petersburg official. Both father and mother knew several languages.

When V.I. Dahl was 13 years old, his father assigned him to the Marine cadet corps, which Dahl graduated at the age of 17.

After graduating from the Naval Corps, in 1819, V.I. Dahl was sent to serve in Black Sea Fleet, in the city of Nikolaev, and then after 3 years of service he was transferred to Kronstadt, and soon he completely left the naval service.

Interest in the Russian language appeared in Dahl in his youth. In the Naval Corps, he was intensively engaged in literature, wrote poetry. 1819 can be considered the beginning of the work of V.I. Dalya over the dictionary.

Driving through the Novgorod province, he wrote down the word “rejuvenate” that interested him (“otherwise, become cloudy, tend to bad weather”). Since then, wandering across the vast expanses of Russia, V.I.Dal did not part with his notes, constantly replenishing them with new words, well-aimed sayings, proverbs, sayings. Accumulated and processed by the end of his life 200 thousand words.

The portrait of old Dahl was left to us by the wonderful artist Perov. Vladimir Ivanovich is sitting in a high, spacious armchair. He is wearing a brown wool robe that he likes to wear at home. Large, strong hands rest on a red silk scarf spread out on her knees. The fingers are long and thin, and the hands are strong, hard - the hands of a master who knows the craft, accustomed to work. Dahl is very thin, he has sunken cheeks from his youth. A long thin nose emphasizes the thinness of the face. A gray beard, as it were, flows down from the cheeks and chin. Gray hair frames a steep, high forehead, the name "brow" is suitable for such a forehead. Under well-defined eyebrows, clear gray-blue eyes are penetrating, omniscient and at the same time young, slightly surprised eyes of a sage. Dal is looking intently somewhere: at the viewer and a little past. Either he sees something over the years and versts, or he flies his eyes into the future, or he looks into himself. He sat comfortably in the chair. Hands are calmly folded, but they feel ready and able to work.

And no less strongly than the eyes, forehead, hair, the artist captured on Dahl's face what is most difficult to convey - the depth of thought. In an armchair, old Dahl does not rest - he works: he thinks.

More than half a century has passed since the day when, with stiff, frozen fingers, the young midshipman opened his notebook, scrawled the first word in it with a pencil: “rejuvenates”. In these more than half a century, Vladimir Ivanovich Dal, if we deduce the “average figure”, with a twelve-hour working day, wrote down and explained one word almost every hour ...

« There is no word that would be so bold, brisk, so bursting out from under the very heart, so seething and vibrantly trembling, as the aptly said Russian word ”(N.V. Gogol).

Previously, 5 letters were written in the word "Christmas tree", instead of Y there were 2 letters. On the same day, it was decided to introduce a new letter of the Russian alphabet - "ё", and Dashkova became the "mother" of the new letter.

1st presenter: So the letter Yo also has a dad?

Teacher:Without language, it is unthinkable to advance science, technology, crafts, that is, life itself. What if you don't teach him?

Scene "Our cases"

Student: Yes!

Teacher: Start!

That's all!

Student: Prepositional!

And maybe so!

Student Sinichkin: None.

Teacher: Why?

Teacher: Why?

Teacher: What about you?

Dear Guys! Love and take care of our native language, speak correctly and beautifully, do not litter your speech with rude and meaningless words.

Remember that the native language has absorbed the age-old experience of the people. It has been created for thousands of years by many generations of our ancestors, and every word in it is like a grain of pure gold!

The remarkable Russian writer Maxim Gorky wrote about the Russian language: “If you don’t know how to use an ax, you won’t cut down a tree, but language is also an instrument, a musical instrument, and you need to learn how to use it easily and beautifully.”

To master the Russian language well, you need to read more the works of such masters of the word as I.A. Krylov, A.S. Pushkin, M.Yu. Lermontov, N.V. Gogol, I.S. Turgenev. Reading improves literacy, and, as he says folk proverb, "Literacy is a step to wisdom."

Great, mighty, truthful and free called our language AND. FROM. Turgenev. He urged to preserve "the purity of the language, as a shrine"

Student:

The language is free, wise and simple

They gave us generations as a legacy.

Krylov and Pushkin, Chekhov and Tolstoy

They kept it in their creations.

The language of writers serves as a model for us.

He is marked by the wisdom of the people.

Master the literary language!

Fight for the culture of speech!

Native language!

He has known me since childhood

On it for the first time I said "mom",

On it I swore allegiance to the stubborn,

And every breath is clear to me on it.

Native language!

He is dear to me, he is mine,

On it the winds whistle in the foothills,

It was the first time I heard

Birds babble to me in green spring...

(music plays)

Scene "Our cases"

Teacher: Petrov, go to the blackboard and write down short story which I will dictate to you.

The student goes to the blackboard and prepares to write.

Teacher (dictates): “Dad and mom scolded Vova for bad behavior. Vova was silent guiltily, and then he promised to improve.”

The student writes from dictation on the blackboard.

Teacher: Great! Underline all the nouns in your story.

The student underlines the words: “dad”, “mother”, “Vova”, “behavior”, “Vova”, “promise”.

Teacher: Ready? Decide what case these nouns are in. Understood?

Student: Yes!

Teacher: Start!

Student: Mom and Dad. Who? What? Parents. So, the case is genitive.

Scolded whom, what? Vova. "Vova" is a name. So the case is nominative.

Scolded for what? For bad behavior. Apparently he did something. This means that “behavior” has an instrumental case.

Vova was silent guiltily. So, here “Vova” has an accusative case.

Well, the “promise”, of course, is in the dative case, since Vova gave it!

That's all!

Teacher: Yes, the analysis turned out to be original! Bring the diary, Petrov. I wonder what mark you would suggest to give yourself?

Student: What? Of course, five!

Teacher: So five? By the way, in what case did you call this word “five”?

Student: Prepositional!

Teacher: In a prepositional? Why?

Student: Well, I suggested it myself!

Scene "At the lesson of the Russian language"

Teacher: Let's see how you learned homework. Whoever goes to answer first will get a point higher.

Disciple Ivanov (pulls out his hand and shouts): Mary Ivanna, I will be the first, give me three at once!

Teacher: Your composition about a dog, Petrov, word for word is similar to Ivanov's composition!

Disciple Petrov: Mary Ivanna, so Ivanov and I live in the same yard, and there we have one dog for all!

Teacher: You, Sidorov, have a wonderful essay, but why is it not finished?

Student Sidorov: But because dad was urgently called to work!

Teacher: Koshkin, confess, who wrote the essay for you?

Pupil Koshkin: I don't know. I went to bed early.

Teacher: What kind of word is "egg", Sinichkin?

Student Sinichkin: None.

Teacher: Why?

Student Sinichkin: Because it is not known who will hatch from it: a rooster or a chicken.

Teacher: Petushkov, determine the gender of the words: “chair”, “table”, “sock”, “stocking”.

Student Petushkov: "Table", "chair" and "sock" - male, and "stocking" - female.

Teacher: Why?

Disciple Petushkov: Because only women wear stockings!

Teacher: Bags, what part of speech is the word "dryish"?

Pupil Meshkov, getting up, is silent for a long time.

Teacher: Well, think, Meshkov, what question does this word answer?

Student Meshkov: What kind? Dryish!

Teacher: Sidorov, why do you eat apples in class?

Disciple Sidorov: It's a pity to waste time at a break!

Teacher: Stop it now! By the way, why weren't you at school yesterday?

Disciple Sidorov: My older brother got sick.

Teacher: What about you?

Student Sidorov: And I rode his bike!

Teacher: Sidorov! My patience has run out! Don't come to school tomorrow without your father!

Student Sidorov: And the day after tomorrow?

Teacher: Sushkina, come up with a proposal with an appeal.

Sushkin's student: Mary Ivanna, call!

The existence of the planet is inextricably linked with the development of population and speech. Linguistic diversity tends inexorably to decrease, which raises fears for the complete disappearance of most of the currently existing languages.

Story

International Mother Language Day appeared in 1999 on the establishment of the General Conference of UNESCO and entered the calendar life of our planet in 2000. Proclaiming this holiday, the primary task was set - to preserve the "endangered" languages, as well as to bring together the cultural and linguistic multitude of the peoples of the world.

A memorable day was chosen as the date of the Language Day. In Dhaka, on February 21, 1952, during a demonstration in support of the native language, students who proposed raising the holiday to the level of an official one were killed by police officers.

Every year this holiday takes on a certain theme, drawing attention to various problems linguistic area. The following questions are raised and considered:

  1. Sign language and the Braille system.
  2. Facilitation between mother tongue and multilingualism.
  3. Preservation of cultural diversity.
  4. Illumination of various cultural traditions.
  5. The quality of linguistic education, etc.

UNESCO staff determined that a huge number of languages were used by the population on our planet, 200 of which have disappeared completely, and more than 2 thousand are on the verge of extinction, and only about 6 thousand languages are used.

In every country there are languages that may disappear with the death of their last speakers. The countries with the highest number of dying languages now are Indonesia, India, China, Brazil, Mexico, USA.

The reasons for the disappearance of the language are very diverse:

  • decline in fertility;
  • wars;
  • deportation;
  • migration;
  • epidemics;
  • language mixing.

AT modern world Added to these factors is the emergence of dominant languages, the knowledge of which is more advantageous.

The disappearance of languages is dangerous not only from a linguistic point of view. Entire cultural layers may disappear due to the loss of traditions and folk art, which are directly related to the history of the language.

Traditions

On this day, employees of all UNESCO branches organize language events, various conferences, seminars, exhibitions, concerts are held in all countries.

Teachers tell why some languages are "erased from the face of the Earth", teach children to love and respect both their native language and foreign ones.
