Eysenck test (character, emotional stability, personality type)

Questionnaire published here as a sample psychological test, compiled by English psychologists G. Eysenck and S. Eysenck in 1964. This is still the most common test for assessing basic personality traits today. Of the 57 questions, 24 are aimed at identifying the degree of introversion or extroversion of a person. Both of these concepts were introduced by the Swiss psychologist C. G. Jung. The terms are formed from the Latin roots "extra" - "outside", "intra" - "inside" and "verto" - "I turn". Extroverts are individuals who, due to the organization of their nervous processes, are turned outward, requiring constant stimulation from the external environment. They are characterized by a craving for new experiences, such people need company; they are characterized by relaxed behavior, they are sociable, carefree, talkative and at the same time impulsive, sometimes even aggressive. Their feelings and emotions are not always controllable.

Introverts face inward. They do not need significant external stimulation, and this property forms the specifics of the behavior of such a person. He is uncommunicative, he has few friends, but he is devoted to them for a long time. An introvert avoids noisy companies, is slow, serious, plans his actions and deeds, controls emotions quite well.

There are practically no "pure" extroverts and introverts, but we all occupy a position closer to one or another pole in this range.

Another 24 questions reveal emotional instability or, on the contrary, stability, balance. Finally, the test includes 9 questions that allow you to assess how sincerely you answered it.

When answering questions, it is better for convenience to put next to them "yes" in case of a positive answer and "no" in case of a negative one.

In order to judge your character from the test results, you need to check your results with the key given here. Put a cross next to your answer if your answer matches the answer of the key list.

1) 1.3, 8, 10, 13, 17, 22, 25, 27, 39, 44.46, 49, 53, 56 - yes;
5, 15, 20, 29, 32, 34.41, 51 - no.

This scale of questions is aimed at identifying the degree of extraversion-introversion. If here you have earned more than 12 crosses, we can assume that you are a pronounced extrovert, if less - an introvert.

2) 2,4,7,9, 11, 14, 16, 19,21,23,26,28,31,33,35,38,40,43, 45,47, 50, 52, 55, 57- Yes.

This series of questions aims to identify the degree of emotional stability or instability. Negative answers are not counted here. If you scored less than 12 crosses here, then you are emotionally stable.

3) 6, 24, 36-yes;
12, 18, 30, 42, 48, 54 - no.

This is the so-called correction scale, it allows you to check how sincerely you answered the questions. If you scored over 4 crosses here, this means that you were not entirely honest with yourself when answering the test questions.

If 10-12 points - pronounced reproducibility of unreacted experiences;

5-9 points - you are prone to imprinting unreacted experiences;

4 points or less - this form of disorganization is not characteristic of you.

Task 4. Summarize the results of all tests in a table and draw a conclusion about the degree of need for mastering self-regulation techniques for each student.

Task 5. Determine which method of self-regulation the following methods belong to.

Method 1.

Sitting or standing, try to relax the muscles of the body as much as possible and focus on breathing.

1. On the count of 1-2-3-4, take a slow deep breath (while the stomach protrudes forward, and the chest is motionless).

2. Hold your breath for the next four counts.

3. Then exhale slowly for a count of 1-2-3-4-5-6.

4. Hold your breath again before the next breath for a count of 1-2-3-4.

After 3-5 minutes of such breathing, you will notice that your state has become noticeably calmer and more balanced.

Method 2.

Sit comfortably, if possible, close your eyes.

1. Breathe deeply and slowly.

2. Take a mental look through your entire body, starting from the top of your head to the tips of your toes (or in reverse order) and find the places of greatest tension (often these are the mouth, lips, jaws, neck, back of the head, shoulders, stomach).

3. Try to tighten the clamps even more (until the muscles tremble), do it while inhaling.

4. Feel this tension.

5. Sharply release tension - do it on the exhale.

6. Do this several times.

In a well-relaxed muscle, you will feel the appearance of warmth and pleasant heaviness.

If the clamp cannot be removed, especially on the face, try to smooth it out with a light self-massage with circular movements of the fingers (you can make grimaces of surprise, joy, etc.).

Method 3.

In the case of even minor successes, it is advisable to praise yourself, mentally saying: “Well done!”, “Clever!”, “It turned out great!”.

Method 4.

Tell yourself: “Talk calmly!”, “Be silent, be silent!”, “Do not succumb to provocation!” - it helps to restrain emotions, to behave with dignity, to comply with the requirements of ethics and the rules of communication.

Method 5.

1. Recall a situation when you coped with similar difficulties.

2. Use affirmations. To enhance the effect, you can use the words "just today", for example:

“Today I will succeed”;

· “It is today that I will be the most calm and self-possessed”;

“It is today that I will be resourceful and confident”;

· "It gives me pleasure to conduct a conversation in a calm and confident voice, to show an example of endurance and self-control."

3. Mentally repeat the text several times.

Attitude formulas can be said aloud in front of a mirror or silently on the way.

Task 5. Give examples of self-regulation methods that can be used at home.

Reporting form: writing work in a notebook

Execution control form practical work:

The completed work is presented to the teacher in workbook by discipline .

Of the 57 questions, 24 are aimed at identifying the degree of introversion or extroversion of a person. Both of these concepts were introduced by the Swiss psychologist C. G. Jung. Another 24 questions reveal emotional instability or, on the contrary, stability, balance. Finally, the test includes 9 questions that allow you to assess how sincerely you answered it.

  1. extraversionintroversion characterizes the main individual orientation of a person, either inward (introvert), or on the world and external events (extrovert). Extroverts are sociable, mobile, impulsive, emotional, risk-averse people. Introverts, on the other hand, are more withdrawn, calm, prone to introspection, not very sociable, cautious and pedantic.
  2. neuroticism emotional stability characterizes indicators of stability or instability nervous system. People who score high on the neuroticism scale are very sensitive to failures and problems that arise, tend to get upset over trifles, are prone to sudden mood swings, anxious and extremely sensitive to everything that happens to them. Emotionally stable people, on the contrary, are not inclined to worry over trifles, easily restrain their emotions and control their own emotional condition well adapted to changing situations.

That's basically all the introductory help. Now you need a piece of paper, some kind of writing tool and a little time that you could just as well spend watching videos. But before proceeding with the test, I recommend writing on a piece of paper your guess: what type of personality do you classify yourself as, without looking, so to speak, at the swing. You, for sure, should know at least something about what traits are inherent in certain types of personality. names: choleric, melancholic, sanguine and phlegmatic. There is no need to look at the definitions, they are below, now just write down your guess. It is possible that you write down two options - this is not forbidden, and after passing the test you can check the answer with what you wrote down earlier.

When answering questions, it is better for convenience to put \"yes \" next to them in case of a positive answer and \"no\" in case of a negative one.

Material Handling:

For each indicator, we calculate the sum of points (if the answer matches the one indicated in the "key" (below), it is assigned one point. If it does not match, nothing is assigned).

First, we check how you answered the questions that were an indicator of your sincerity:

Sincerity:

  • Yes - 6, 24, 36.
  • No - 12, 18, 30, 42, 48, 54.

If in sincerity you typed:

Extraversion:

  • Yes - 1, 3, 8, 10, 13, 17, 22, 25, 27, 39, 44, 46, 49, 53, 56.
  • No - 5, 15, 20, 29, 32, 34, 37, 41, 51.

Sustainability:

  • Yes - 2, 4, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 26, 28, 31, 33, 35, 38, 40, 43, 45, 47, 50, 52, 55, 57.

Result interpretation:

Draw two axes intersecting in the center (as in the figure). 24 divisions on each.

  • The vertical axis is \"emotional stability scale\"
  • Horizontal axis - "extroversion scale"

Each scale from 1 to 24 intersect at point 12. Mark your performance on the axes. Find the point of intersection. The point can lie on the axis if one of the scales is equal to 12. The result you got is your predominant temperament type. On the extraversion scale, you can see the type of personality orientation: extrovert or introvert.

Let me remind you:

  • extroverts - these are individuals who, due to the organization of their nervous processes, are turned outward, requiring constant stimulation from the external environment. They are characterized by a craving for new experiences, such people need company; they are characterized by relaxed behavior, they are sociable, carefree, talkative and at the same time impulsive, sometimes even aggressive. Their feelings and emotions are not always controllable.
  • introverts turned inward. They do not need significant external stimulation, and this property forms the specifics of the behavior of such a person. He is uncommunicative, he has few friends, but he is devoted to them for a long time. An introvert avoids noisy companies, is slow, serious, plans his actions and deeds, controls emotions quite well.

\"Pure\" extroverts and introverts practically do not exist ,but we all occupy a position closer to one or another pole in this range.Plus, remember that there is no bad type of temperament !!!

Now you can see the second picture, which shows what qualities this or that type of personality is characterized by,

  • If the intersection point is in the upper right corner, you are an unstable choleric extrovert.
  • If on the right below - a stable (emotionally stable) sanguine extrovert.
  • Top left - unstable melancholic introvert.
  • Bottom left - a stable phlegmatic introvert.

And are given characteristic qualities for your type.

Test results:

Melancholic (weakness and excitation and inhibition) - easily upset, anxious, inclined to talk about the case and not on the case, pessimistic, rather reserved, uncommunicative, quiet in behavior, painfully reacts to the statements of others concerning him, easily falls into a state of melancholy, fear, sadness. He is rather suspicious, the new environment frightens him and he is lost, he considers life in black colors.

Choleric (the predominance of the process of excitation over inhibition) - strong, unbalanced, mobile, unrestrained, sensitive, restless, rather aggressive, excitable, unstable, optimistic, trying to take the initiative in his own hands, active, fighting type, provocative, easily and quickly irritated, cyclical behavior and experiences. Making big plans. The will is impulsive, often irritated, not restrained in words and actions, quick-tempered and straightforward.

Phlegmatic (predominance of inhibition) - Passive, prudent, judicious, benevolent, peaceful, well managed, inspiring confidence, reliable and calm. High efficiency, patience, when communicating is always equal with other people, is distinguished by tolerance for their weaknesses, does not like idle / empty chatter, it is difficult to make him laugh and anger, outwardly he seems calm even with very serious troubles and problems, he practically does not express feelings outwardly.

Sanguine (mobility of processes and excitation and inhibition) - sociable, contact, sociable, talkative, laid-back in behavior, cheerful, not prone to anxiety, strive to take a dominant position. High adaptability to environmental conditions, speaks quickly, movements are fast, can switch attention well from one object to another, manages his mood well, is optimistic, his inner state of mind is written on his face.

That's actually all
.I would be grateful if you share the results of the test and mark your result in the survey and whether it coincided with your initial assumption, and then we will all see the overall statistics of the results together.I think it also turned out to be useful to you, although maybe someone has passed it before. Yes, and in principle, thank you for taking part in testing, if, of course, they accepted, or at least read it all, since you are reading this.

Purpose: to test emotional stability and balance with the help of the test.

One of the most famous tests was developed by the English psychologist G. Eysenck. It took several decades to create it.

Extroverts are characterized by impulsiveness, initiative, flexibility of behavior, sociability, which manifest themselves in functional endurance, the ability to withstand long-term or short-term excitement without going into the opposite state of inhibition.

Introverts are characterized by a focus on the phenomena of their own inner world, which is expressed in lack of sociability, isolation, and a tendency to introspection. The functional performance of introverts during inhibition is manifested in the ability to form various inhibitory conditioned reactions. Extroverts work better in the evening, while introverts work better in the morning. It should be noted that pronounced types are rare. Each individual person is characterized by a greater or lesser severity of one or another property.

Practical part. You are offered 57 questions about the peculiarities of your behavior and your feelings. Answer the questions with plus "yes" and minus "no". Work quickly without spending too much time thinking about them, as your first reaction is the most interesting, and not the result of thinking too much. Remember to answer every question. There are no good or bad answers here. This is not a test of your abilities, but only a clarification of the characteristics of your behavior.

Interpreting the results of the questionnaire, Eysenck singled out two parameters of a person's individuality: extraversion-introversion and emotional stability (stability) - emotional instability, instability (neuroticism).

All 57 questions are divided into three groups. 24 questions reveal whether you are an extrovert or an introvert. The next 24 questions are related to your emotional stability or instability. And the remaining 9 questions determine how sincere you are in your answers.

For each answer that matches the key, you give yourself 1 point. The scores for each of the three scales are summed up.

Key to the Introversion-Extraversion Scale: 1+, 3+, 5-, 8+, 10+, 13+, 15-, 17+, 20-, 22+, 25+, 27+, 29-, 32-, 34+, 37-, 39+, 41-, 44+, 46+, 49+, 51-, 53+, 56+.

Scale emotional stability-instability 2+, 4+, 7+, 9+, 11+, 14+, 16+, 19+, 21+, 23+, 26+, 28+, 31+, 33+, 35+, 38+, 40+, 43+, 45+, 47+, 50+, 52+, 55+, 57+.

The scale of secrecy-frankness (sincerity) 6+, 12-, 18-, 24+, 30-, 36+, 42-, 48-, 54-.

If you scored 12 or more points on the first scale, then you are an extrovert, (12-18 points - moderate extraversion, 19-24 -
significant), if you have less than 12 points, then you are an introvert (1-7 points - significant, 8-11 - moderate introversion).

If you have 12 or less points on the second scale, then you are emotionally stable (up to 10 points - high stability, 11-12 points - medium); if more than 12 points - then you are emotionally unstable (15-18 points - high, 19-24 points - very high instability).
If you scored more than 4 points, then your answers were not always sincere and indicate a person's tendency to focus on a good impression of himself.

With the help of the questionnaire, you can also determine the type of your temperament. If you depict the coordinates on a piece of paper and set aside points (from 0 to 24) along the stability (stability) - neuroticism and introversion-extroversion axes, then the combination of characteristics will indicate the type of temperament. The upper right side (unstable extroverts) will house choleric people; in the lower right part - sanguine; in the lower left - phlegmatic and in the upper left - melancholic.
