The first thing to understand is what will happen from tapping with your fingers. There are a number of acupuncture meridians at your fingertips, and when you tap with your fingers, you use not only the meridians you are tapping on, but also the ones at your fingertips. While it's important to target the correct area, you don't have to worry about hitting it perfectly since the total area is sufficient.

You can tap with either hand. Most points are on both sides of the body, so it doesn't matter which side you tap on, it doesn't matter if you switch sides while tapping. For example, you can tap under your right eye and then under your left arm.

You should use fairly firm but gentle pressure, not to the point of hurting or bruising, as if you were banging on a table or checking a melon for ripeness.

You can use all four fingers, or just the first two (index and middle). Four fingers, usually used on the top of the head, collarbone, under the arm... wider areas. On sensitive areas like around the eyes, only two are traditionally used.

Tap with your fingertips, not your nails.

You can use both hands and all fingers. Using multiple fingers covers a large area and allows access to large acupuncture points.

If you choose to use both hands, I recommend slightly alternating tapping so that each hand is slightly behind the other and you are not tapping with both hands at the same time. This provides a kinesthetic version of eye movement alternation, which is done in EMDR and may provide some minor additional benefit.

Tapping each point is done 5-7 times. In fact, the number is not critical and ideally should continue along the time it takes for one complete breath cycle - inhalation-exhalation.

Identify the problem you want to focus on. It could be general anxiety or it could be a specific situation or issue that makes you feel anxious.

Consider this problem or situation. How strong are your feelings right now? Rate the level of intensity, from zero being the lowest level to ten being the highest.

The traditional EFT phrase uses the following settings:

“Even though I have ___, I deeply and completely accept myself.”
You can replace the second part of the phrase with: "I deeply and completely love and accept myself."

Examples:

  • Even though I have a headache, I deeply and completely accept myself.
  • Even though I have depression, I deeply and completely accept myself.
  • Although I feel anxious about my financial situation, I deeply and completely accept myself.
  • Although I panic when I think about ___, I deeply and completely accept myself.
  • Even though I have a feeling of ___, I deeply and completely accept myself.
  • Even though I have trouble breathing, I deeply and completely accept myself.

Create your statement. In affirmation, you must acknowledge the problem and accept yourself despite the existence of the problem. This is what is needed for an assertion to be effective.

Tap the karate point on the other hand with the fingers of one hand. Karate point located on the outside of the hand, on the opposite side of the thumb.
Repeat the affirmation out loud three times while simultaneously tapping the karate point.

Now take a deep breath!

The tapping order starts at the top and works down. This sequence, unlike TFT, is not critical, you can tap in any order. It's just easier - top to bottom.

Tap each of the points in the following sequence:

crown
Upper part of the head, in the center of the skull.

Brows
The inner edges of the eyebrows, slightly above and away from the nose.

Outer side of the eyes
Hard area between eye and temple. Tap this area carefully so as not to hit your eyes!

under the eyes
Hard area under the eyes that merges with the cheekbone; on the line under the pupil.

Under the nose
A point centered between the bottom of the nose and the top lip.

Chin
This point is directly below the previous one and is centered between the lower lip and chin.

clavicle
A point just below the protruding part of the collarbone. To find it, first place your index finger on the U-shaped notch at the top of your sternum (where men wear a tie knot). From the bottom of the U, move your index finger down towards your navel 2.5 cm, and then move left (or right) 2.5 cm. This point is called the collarbone, although it is not located on the collarbone as such.

As you tap on each dot, repeat a simple reminder phrase of your problem, such as 'my depression' or 'my financial situation'. In this way, you are constantly 'reminding' your system of the problem you are working on.

Take another deep breath!

Now that you've finished tapping, focus on your problem again. Rate the problem now, compared to a few minutes ago, on the same scale of numbers.
If your score is still higher than "2", you can take another round of tapping. Keep tapping until the anxiety goes away. You can change your settings to fix the problem for further progress.

The phrase - the reminder also changes - "remaining headache".

It doesn't matter if you believe the statement or not... just speak. It's best to say it with feeling and insight, but the affirmation will usually get the job done even without it.

This means that our ability to perceive and analyze information is reduced, and we can no longer learn and remember what used to be easy. Our reaction to the world, we run the risk of making a mistake or making the wrong decision at a crucial moment. No wonder - the blocked part of the brain seems to be turned off from life, it is simply insensitive to what is happening around!

Most likely, the deterioration of intellectual abilities with age occurs in many people not because of age as such, but because of negative emotions, experiences, and mental trauma accumulated over a previous life. You may have forgotten about them - but the brain remembers and is not able to work in full force!

Therefore, noticing that a simple “finger rain” tends to pull out the “splinters” of negative emotions and past unwanted experiences that are “stuck” in the conscious and subconscious, I decided to study this method deeper and find out what are the reasons for such an amazing effect and what is its mechanism. actions. In addition, I wanted to somehow improve this method in order to enhance its effect, because, in my opinion, although it was noticeable, it was rather weak.

My search and research led me to in-depth study two seemingly unrelated disciplines: reflexology and body-oriented psychotherapy.

The first is the direction of oriental medicine, the second is western. But the contradiction between them is only visible: in fact, both sciences are based on the idea of ​​a person as a single system, where the body, mind and soul are closely interconnected. Why, by touching the body, acting on certain points on it or making certain movements, we can heal our emotions, get rid of mental trauma, become stronger and more successful? Because the body reflects our emotional condition, and stress, and psychological trauma, and even thoughts and feelings. Moreover, this connection is both direct and reverse: by working with emotions, we can get rid of diseases of the body, but by acting directly on the body, we also affect our emotions and our inner state in general!

Eastern medicine explains this relationship by the fact that energy circulates in our body, which is the connecting substance between the body and mind, emotions, soul. Western psychotherapy is also recent times started talking about energy fullness or depletion, about emotional blocks, that is, the blocking of energy in the body, which indicates the common essence of these two approaches. After all, both reflexology and body-oriented therapy, in fact, pursue the same goal - the restoration of normal energy balance in the body. As a result, it becomes possible solution any problem: from healing headaches and other illnesses to getting rid of stress and depression, overcoming bad luck, getting out of difficult situations. When everything is in order with our energy, when the body, mind and soul are free from energy blocks, we acquire abilities never seen before - our brain begins to work much better. Now continue tapping in a circle, starting from the point at the beginning of the eyebrow, and say what you feel, moving to the next point with each new phrase.

If in the process of tapping your emotions intensify, it means that up to this point you have suppressed them in yourself, did not recognize them. So keep tapping and you will see these emotions begin to fade as you amplify.

Tapping itself is similar to how we vigorously type on the keyboard or lightly drum on the table. The points should be tapped in a circle (see the figure), while speaking aloud certain phrases and sentences. 1. Identification of the problem itself with which you will work

2. Evaluation of the degree of your experiences on a 10-point scale

Just determine how strong your feelings about the current situation are at the moment. How much this situation touches you.

3. Set up for a session

It consists in the fact that you repeat a certain phrase three times in a row and at the same time lightly tap the “karate point” on the other hand with the fingertips of one hand (this is the point on the edge of your palm that is struck in karate, see picture). The phrase that you repeat while doing this is: “Even though ________, I deeply and completely accept myself.” Instead of a space, you state your problem. For example, "Even though 'I'm deeply depressed,' I deeply and completely accept myself." This is how the session is set up.

4. Tapping - tapping the meridian points with your fingertips

This is done about 7 times, but, in fact, you start from your inner feelings. Over time, you will feel when you need to move to the next point. By tapping on the dots, you repeat the essence of the problem (preferably out loud). You can quarrel at the same time, you can get angry if the situation annoys you a lot. For example, “My head hurts again” - go to the next point: “I have a headache again”, the next point: “this headache just got me”, the next point: “why does it hurt all the time, it's just impossible” ... and so on.

Tap all the time on one side of the face and body. Which one doesn't matter.

There are several versions of this technique, several schools. They are equally effective, so you can safely use any of them.

Take a deep breath and exhale, and evaluate the problem again on a 10-point scale

It may not decrease (rarely) or decrease by 1-2 units, or disappear altogether (it happens). If it didn’t disappear, but decreased (intensity decreased), then you continue the whole procedure again from point 3, while in the setup (during tuning) we say the following: “Even though I still feel headache, I deeply and completely accept myself" or "Even though I still have this problem, I deeply and completely accept myself." That is, now you are already working with the remnants of the problem situation.

Again evaluate the state on a subjective scale

You need to bring the problem to resolution. The score is compared to the original state. Repeat cycle.

It can really be learned in literally 5-10 minutes, you just need to remember the sequence of actions. To do this, it is useful to watch different videos, videos where the session is being held. It is interesting. As a rule, the session is accompanied by a specialist and it is possible to evaluate what kind of questions he or she asks, how he leads the person to the necessary understanding, and so on.

Repeatedly successfully used on myself. Therefore, we recommend you! Any problem that has an emotional basis can be healed with this method. Tapping easily will help you relax.

Any emotions are neutral, they show that something is not in order, what needs to be looked at more closely and brought into harmony, which side of life to patch up.
