  • The article submitted for publication should be relevant, have novelty, contain the statement of tasks (problems), a description of the main research results obtained by the author, and conclusions.
  • Titles of scientific articles should be informative, capacious, they can use only generally accepted abbreviations.
  • In the translation of the titles of articles into English, there should not be any transliterations from the Russian language, except for untranslatable names of proper names, devices, and other objects that have their own names; also, untranslatable slang, known only to Russian-speaking specialists, is not used. This also applies to author's summaries (abstracts) and keywords.
  • The journal "Bulletin of the Irkutsk State Technical University" adopted a limit on the possible number of articles by one author in one issue of the journal - up to one article, written individually or in co-authorship.
  • The author is responsible for the accuracy of reproduction of names, quotations, formulas, figures.
  • The editorial board reserves the right to edit articles without changing the scientific content of the author's version.
  • The editorial board of the scientific journal "Bulletin of ISTU" conducts an independent (internal) review.
  • Submitted articles are checked in the program "Antiplagiarism".
  • An article sent to the author for correction or reduction by e-mail must be returned to the editors along with a letter from the author (indicating how the comments were taken into account) no later than one week after sending. When writing and formatting articles, you should adhere to the following rules:

  • The structure of the article should include: an introduction (brief), the purpose of the study, the material and methods of the study, the results of the study and their discussion, conclusions or conclusions, bibliographic list.
  • Article on electronic media should be kept under the name of the first author.
  • Surnames of the authors of articles on English language are presented in one of the accepted international transliteration systems. An arbitrary choice of transliteration inevitably leads to a variety of options for presenting the last name of one author and, as a result, makes it difficult to identify him and combine data on his publications and citations under one profile (identifier - author ID).
  • The article must be typed on a computer in Microsoft Office Word in one file.
  • The volume of the article should not be less than 5 pages (1 page - 2000 characters), not including tables, charts, figures and references.
  • Page and paragraph settings: top and bottom indents - 2.5 cm; left and right - 2 cm; tabulation - 2 cm; orientation - portrait;
  • Font - Times New Roman, size - 12, line spacing - single, word wrapping - automatic.
  • When inserting formulas, use Microsoft Equation 3 for settings: formula elements are executed - in italics; for Greek letters and symbols, assign the Symbol font, for other elements - Times New Roman. Character size: regular - 12 pt, large index - 7 pt, small index - 5 pt, large symbol -18 pt, small symbol - 12 pt. All explications of formula elements must also be performed in the form of formulas.
  • Figures inserted into the text must be made with a resolution of 300 dpi, B&W - for black and white illustrations, Grayscale - for halftones, maximum size figure with an inscription: width 150 mm, height 245 mm, presented on a CD as a file with the *.BMP, *.TIFF, *.JPG extension and printed on standard A4 sheets, must allow movement in the text and the possibility of resizing. Schemes, graphs are executed in the built-in MS Word program or in MS Excel, with files attached.

  • The editors reserve the right to reject articles that do not meet the above requirements.
  • Submitted manuscripts will not be returned. It is not allowed to send to the editorial office works that have been sent to other publications or printed in them.
  • Articles published in the journal "Bulletin of ISTU" are abstracted and reviewed.
  • Reprinting of journal materials is allowed only with the consent of the editors.
  • The publication of the article is free.

Annotation requirements:

  • High-quality author's annotations in Russian and English are necessary in an information-saturated environment. They provide an opportunity to get an idea of the content of the article and determine the interest in it before reading its full text. Annotations significantly increase the likelihood of peers citing the content of the article and thereby affect the citation index.
  • As practice shows, the volume of a quality abstract ranges from 200 to 250 characters. This volume allows you to disclose the content of the article and avoid common mistakes(repetition in different variations of the title of the article, obscuring the content in general terms, unacceptably short volume, etc.).
  • The abstract should reveal the essence scientific problem considered in the article and include the main research conclusion. It should clearly and briefly outline the subject and objectives of the study, its methodology, novelty and main results.
  • Please pay special attention to the quality of the translation of the abstract and keywords into English! An abstract in English should contain the title (title) of the article at the beginning of the text, the initials and surnames of the authors also in English. As an aid to writing annotations (abstracts), two versions of the rules can be recommended. One of the options is the Russian GOST 7.9-95 "Abstract and abstract. General requirements”, developed by VINITI specialists. The second is recommendations for writing abstracts for English-language articles submitted to journals published by Emerald (UK): http://www.emeraldinsight.com/authors/guides/write/abstracts.htm.
  • Experience shows that the most difficult thing for a Russian author when preparing an abstract is to present briefly the results of his work. Therefore, one of the proven variants of the abstract is a brief repetition of the structure of the article in it, including the introduction, goals and objectives, methods, results, and conclusion. This method of compiling annotations has become widespread in foreign journals.

In the journal "Bulletin of the Irkutsk State Technical University" with From January 01 to December 31, 2018, 217 articles by 557 authors were published.

To narrow the search results, you can refine the query by specifying the fields to search on. The list of fields is presented above. For example:

You can search across multiple fields at the same time:

logical operators

The default operator is AND.
Operator AND means that the document must match all the elements in the group:

research development

Operator OR means that the document must match one of the values in the group:

study OR development

Operator NOT excludes documents containing this element:

study NOT development

Search type

When writing a query, you can specify the way in which the phrase will be searched. Four methods are supported: search based on morphology, without morphology, search for a prefix, search for a phrase.
By default, the search is based on morphology.
To search without morphology, it is enough to put the "dollar" sign before the words in the phrase:

$ study $ development

To search for a prefix, you need to put an asterisk after the query:

study *

To search for a phrase, you need to enclose the query in double quotes:

" research and development "

Search by synonyms

To include synonyms of a word in the search results, put a hash mark " # " before a word or before an expression in brackets.
When applied to one word, up to three synonyms will be found for it.
When applied to a parenthesized expression, a synonym will be added to each word if one was found.
Not compatible with no-morphology, prefix, or phrase searches.

# study

grouping

Parentheses are used to group search phrases. This allows you to control the boolean logic of the request.
For example, you need to make a request: find documents whose author is Ivanov or Petrov, and the title contains the words research or development:

Approximate word search

For approximate search you need to put a tilde " ~ " at the end of a word in a phrase. For example:

bromine ~

The search will find words such as "bromine", "rum", "prom", etc.
You can optionally specify the maximum number of possible edits: 0, 1, or 2. For example:

bromine ~1

The default is 2 edits.

Proximity criterion

To search by proximity, you need to put a tilde " ~ " at the end of a phrase. For example, to find documents with the words research and development within 2 words, use the following query:

" research development "~2

Expression relevance

To change the relevance of individual expressions in the search, use the sign " ^ " at the end of an expression, and then indicate the level of relevance of this expression in relation to the others.
The higher the level, the more relevant the given expression.
For example, in this expression, the word "research" is four times more relevant than the word "development":

study ^4 development

By default, the level is 1. Valid values are a positive real number.

Search within an interval

To specify the interval in which the value of some field should be, you should specify the boundary values in brackets, separated by the operator TO.
A lexicographic sort will be performed.

Such a query will return results with the author starting from Ivanov and ending with Petrov, but Ivanov and Petrov will not be included in the result.
To include a value in an interval, use square brackets. Use curly braces to escape a value.
