INTERREGIONAL OLYMPIAD FOR SCHOOLCHILDREN"EURASIAN LINGUISTIC OLYMPIAD"

On November 18, 2015, the Interregional Olympiad for Schoolchildren "Eurasian Linguistic Olympiad" starts.

Eleven leading Russian universities: Moscow State Linguistic University, Eurasian Linguistic Institute (branch of Moscow State Linguistic University in Irkutsk), Far East federal university, Siberian Federal University, Novosibirsk National Research State University, Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University, Perm State National research university, Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University, Chelyabinsk State University, Transbaikal State University, Altai State Pedagogical University, - hold a joint linguistic Olympiad among students in the 2015-2016 academic year 7-11 grades secondary educational institutions. The Moscow State Linguistic University is the coordinator of the Olympiad.

Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia dated August 28, 2015 No. 901 « On approval of the List of Olympiads for schoolchildren and their levels for 2015-2016 academic year» The Eurasian Linguistic Olympiad, an interregional Olympiad for schoolchildren, was included in the list of Olympiads for schoolchildren for the 2015-2016 academic year (No. 16) and was assigned the second level.

The main goals and objectives of the Interregional Olympiad for schoolchildren "Eurasian Linguistic Olympiad" are:

Identification and creation of conditions for supporting gifted schoolchildren and applicants;

development of creative initiative and interest in educational process;

Increased motivation to in-depth study foreign languages;

attracting the attention of schoolchildren to the study of socio-economic, political, legal and cultural aspects of development modern world;

· contributing to the creation of a comfortable motivational space for future professional choice;

Assistance in the education of value orientations among schoolchildren.

For the organization and methodological support of the Olympiad, the Central Organizing Committee of the Olympiad (Organizing Committee), the Central Methodological Commission and the Central Jury, which includes representatives of the founding organizations of the Olympiad, as well as other interested organizations (academic and research institutes, employers), have been formed.

The Olympiad is held in two stages.

Registration of participants and the first (qualifying) stage will be held from November 18, 2015 to January 20, 2016 in on-line mode.

On the website of the Olympiad (http://www.linguanet.ru//Solimpiada/), you must fill out a registration form and receive a task in the chosen language. Eight hours are given to complete the tasks, then access to the site from a specific computer of the Olympiad is blocked. Re-registration is not possible. The results of the qualifying stage and the lists of winners and prize-winners are published on the Olympiad website no later than February 15, 2016.

The second, final full-time round is held from February 1 to March 31, 2016 at the venues of the universities-organizers of the Olympiad. Winners and prize-winners of the qualifying stage are allowed to participate in the final stage.

Presentation of the lists of winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad in Russian Council Olympiads for schoolchildren, information about the winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad is posted on the official website of the Olympiad until April 10, 2016.

According to the current legislation, the winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad in a foreign language may be granted benefits when entering higher educational institutions for specialties (training areas) in accordance with the profile of the Olympiad.

Ten Russian universities: Moscow State Linguistic University, Far Eastern Federal University, Siberian Federal University, Novosibirsk National Research State University, Baikal State University, Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University, Pyatigorsk State University, Chelyabinsk State University, Trans-Baikal State University, Altai State Pedagogical Academy, - held in the 2016-2017 academic year a joint linguistic Olympiad among students in grades 7-11 of secondary educational institutions.

The Moscow State Linguistic University acted as the All-Russian coordinator of the Olympiad. The coordinator and venue for the Olympiad in the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts was the Pyatigorsk State University.

According to the current legislation, the winners and prize-winners of the final (full-time) stage of the Olympiad in a foreign language are granted preferential rights and advantages when entering higher educational institutions in the specialty (field of study) in accordance with the profile of the Olympiad. In addition, according to the Rules for admission to FSBEI HPE "Pyatigorsk State University" for 2017, all participants in the final (full-time) round, held on the basis of PSU, are awarded extra points upon admission - 3 points.
